Alphonse Island

Wind:
Seychelles has two major wind systems during the year. These winds bring in natural seaweed into different parts of the islands (especially Praslin) and therefore its best to know which islands to enjoy at different times of the year.
Northwest trade wind: Blows from November to March. At this time of year its best to visit destinations on the East Coast of the islands.
Southeast trade wind: From May to September. At this time of year its best to visit destinations on the West Coast of the islands.

One can either spend USD 150 per day or USD 4,000 per day depending on the level of luxury one is after.
For the more intimate and exclusive experiences one can expect to pay a premium. Also the private islands will require short charter flights adding to the overall price.
Generally the islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue are suited for all types of travellers, whilst all the private islands are more suited for large budgets.
The Costs are dependent on:
Location: The most remote and pristine islands are the highest priced, these islands will come with the most pristine beaches, world class chefs, inclusive activities, top end luxury and privacy.
Seasonality: Peak season prices are higher than the low season. One can find many specials during the low and shoulder seasons.
Transport to and from: The three main islands (Mahe, Praslin and La Dique) are easily accessible by a fast ferry service. There are also scheduled flights daily between Mahe and Praslin (20 minutes flight time). However for the private islands one would either fly by private charter or by helicopter into private landing strips. All these flights are very scenic and offer a birds eye view of islands and ocean reefs.

The ways of travelling in Seychelles depends on the type of accommodation and location you will be staying at.
If you are staying on a private island or a fully inclusive resort in Mahe or Praslin, most likely one will be staying at the resort and then can take transfers to and from any desired locations.
For the adventurers, the best way to travel around is by renting a car.
Mahe and Praslin: Renting a car offers the perfect way to explore all the beaches, the tropical jungles and all the hidden gems around the island. You can also take taxi’s on these islands but it sometime works out better to have a car rental if you are going to do many trips.
La Digue: There are no motor vehicles allowed on the island. Therefore one must travel around on foot, bicycle or golf cart. You can rent a bicycle for the whole duration of your stay and it is safe to park it at all beaches, restaurants and accommodation. This is an amazing way to explore the small island.
Private Islands: The luxury islands usually give complimentary bicycles and sometimes personal golf carts for travelling throughout the island and to explore different beaches and restaurants
Day Trips: There are many day trips offered from Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, this includes Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Island Hoping and Lunches.
